Ferdinand Doblhammer, born in 1996, works in the fields of media art, music and design. In his works he deals with data protection in an ever more virtualizing world and the boundaries or border crossings imposed by it. Using augmented reality, video works and installations, he attempts to highlight media-political problems of our time. Since 2021 he has been realizing interdisciplinary performances together with Lea Karnutsch, situated between dance and media art, and co-founded the association Flip the Coin.
Ferdinand Doblhammer participated in various exhibitions, including the Criatech Festival Aveiro (Portugal), Parallel Vienna 2020, 12-14contemporary Gallery and Medienwerkstatt Wien. The piece Decoding it the hard way, realized together with Lea Karnutsch, was shown at Dock 11 Berlin, Kultursommer 2021 and Angewandte Festival. In 2019 he collaborated with Chico MacMurtrie on the “border crosser” performances, which were shown in New York, Munich and Vienna (MQ) and many more. As a musician he has performed internationally in Leicester, Budapest and Berlin among others and released on labels in UK and USA.
