Heidi Trimmel studierte Physik, Landschaftsplanung und Digitale Kunst und promovierte in Meteorologie. Neben künstlerischen Ausstellungen und Projekten führten sie Forschungsaufenthalte zu Météo-France und ans Norsk institutt for luftforskning. Seit 2023 ist sie am Internationalem Institut für Angewandte Systemanalyse (IIASA) beschäftigt.
