The constant failure and the creative process
The joy of creating and the production process itself are the focus of the sculptor and sculpture artist Wendelin Munter.
The artist based in Wiener Neustadt (NOe) has been working with a wide variety of stones for many years,
from classic granite to serpetine to soapstone or marble.
“The basis is constant failure, which is why the creative process is the focus of my work,”
Wendelin Munter describes the basis of his artistic exploration. “The focus is on the joy of creating and not on the end product.
If you like the results of my work, then I’ll be happy too,” said Munter during a showcase of the Wiener Neustädter Artists’ Association.
Representational and abstract
The motifs of the stone sculptures range from representational themes such as cubes with integrated stairs
from purely abstract forms to abstract female nudes or human transformations
mostly round objects. The sculptures are all made by hand, some objects consist of two or more parts.
The vast majority of the works deliberately have smaller dimensions, so that they can be set up primarily in the home.
to promote a close and immediate relationship with the work of art.
